Jim Holmlund

Executive Director

Jim is passionate about three things: Jesus, his family, and the Vikings. Drawn into the ministry at a young age, through an experience at camp, he has served in professional ministry since 1995. His first call was serving at Camp Lone Star, a Lutheran Camp in LaGrange, TX. Later, he accepted a call to serve as the youth minister at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN. He then served at the same church as the Director of Facilities and Finance, before joining Love INC Heartland in August of 2021.

Jim has a Lutheran Teaching Degree from Concordia University, St Paul. He also has a Masters of Organizational Leadership from the same institution. In his free time, Jim enjoys watching Minnesota sports teams. He loves being outdoors, on the lake fishing. Jim and his wife Karla have two adult children, Jacob and Lauren.

Having grown up in a small town in rural South Dakota, Jim was drawn to the ministry provided by Love INC to outlying areas. One of the things that attracted Jim to serving at Love INC Heartland is their strong desire to build relationships with the people they serve, for the sake of the Gospel. He values that Love INC does not just give handouts…they desire to be in partnership and relationship with their neighbors. Relationships have always been key to Jim, and he is excited to be a part of this vital ministry.
