Director’s Note July 2026

For the past four years, I have written these quarterly updates to share how Love INC Heartland is partnering with local churches to transform lives. I have also included reminders of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. This quarter’s letter is a little different. Over the past several months, I have been away from Love INC Heartland due to unexpected medical issues. Doctors discovered an aortic aneurysm along with a faulty aortic valve.

Renewed Hope, Peace, and Purpose

A few years ago, Skylar moved to the area after caring for her parents through their final days of life. First, her father passed away, and then her mother passed, leaving Skylar alone, lonely, and experiencing her own health problems. In hopes of starting over, Skylar moved near her sisters.

From Isolation To Community

At Love In the Name of Christ Heartland, we believe everyone has value and we are called to invest relationally in each other. Janet* came to Love INC Heartland looking for resources and support as her work hours had been cut. We called her periodically for prayer. She valued prayer and she knew we valued prayer as well. The Fresh Start Program was empowering her to build community and combat the isolation she was experiencing by living alone.

Uniting Churches Through Gap Ministries

At Love In the Name of Christ Heartland, it is our mission to mobilize the churches to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ. The Christmas Store is an example of this mission in action. The Christmas Store is a Gap Ministry led by WestPointe Church in partnership with Love INC Heartland to serve neighbors in need. A team of dedicated and innovative volunteers create a store for Love INC Heartland families.
